Filled with decades of history, serving as a silent witness to the birth of relationships, and hosting countless celebrations La Borde House is a focal point of our communities’ rich saga. A symbol of the resilience and grandiosity of Starr County the hotel continues to serve as the catalyst to our historical preservation and tourism endeavors.
For over 100 years, the doors to La Borde House have been open to welcome visitors and patrons to the most frequented location in this area. Unfortunately, the trying economic times our country has faced have not left La Borde House unscathed. The reduction in travel budgets for many public and private entities has resulted in a significant negative impact for the hotel. As a non-profit organization supported solely by rentals and donations, these cuts in revenue have prompted the implementation of many difficult cost saving measures. We have additionally established exciting new partnerships to promote and resurrect the passion for preserving this essential piece of our community. One of our prevalent advocates and contributors, Mrs. Miriam S. Vale, passed away last year and as one of her final requests asked that contributions be made to La Borde House. We hope that many of you find inspiration in her support and actively participate in the conservation of this and many other landmarks.
We welcome you to stop by and encounter a vision of majestic splendor that transports you back in time. Be part of the effort and donate to the continued preservation and restoration of this magnificent treasure that belongs to you- Starr County.
